The word “Nelke” in our company name is German for “many small flowers gathering to become one.”
Here at Nelke Planning we gather the tremendous energy that is created when people interact with one another and turn it into entertainment.
Our hope is to bring smiles to our audiences, as well as everyone involved, when they experience the enjoyment and excitement of a Nelke Planning entertainment creation, and this hope is expressed by our company logo. Our mascots, NEL and LKE, are twin fairies who sprinkle entertainment all over the world.
Nelke Planning wishes to deliver courage and excitement to as large an audience as possible with our theater and entertainment, contributing to the smiles of all those individuals whose lives are regularly touched by the entertainment around them. STAGE PRODUCTION
Our stage production department is involved in a wide variety of entertainment productions, including 2.5-dimensional musicals, straight plays, and imported Broadway productions. The true pleasure of any stage production is the manner in which audience, performers, and staff alike are all able to share in the excitement of the moment. Many experts in planning and development, production, casting, and even sales collaborate in order to make that happen, and our pursuit of that particular allure ensures that each live performance we produce is even more unforgettable than the last.
LICENSING R&D
We are involved in all aspects of licensed content development, including associated music and visual media distribution, television broadcast, and cinema screening rights, as well as packaging design and production for DVDs and other performance merchandise, out-licensing, securing sales channels, and sales promotion. Our rights management operations include the protection of those rights, including responding to instances of infringement and the appropriate distribution of revenue based on their use. By expanding opportunities for audiences to enjoy a production on stage as well as off, our management and utilisation of those various rights ensures that everyone involved is happy with the production.
OVERSEAS & CHINA
Many of Japan’s subcultures are growing more and more popular every year overseas, with China showing a particular interest in our ACG (anime, comic, and games) culture, and 2.5-dimensional musicals are attracting attention as well.
Following our first overseas performances in Taipei and Seoul in 2008, we established our Chinese division in 2015, and by 2019 we had held 260 performances divided among 27 different titles in 21 cities throughout Asia. We are currently putting our efforts into performances of works produced in Japan that are being held all across Asia, as well as creating new productions from original Chinese content. Delivering all these dreams and all this excitement to growing overseas audiences necessitates that we engage in every aspect of our Asian productions, from initial negotiations and production arrangements, to advertising, ticket sales, logistics, merchandising, and on-site operations.
More recently, we have been actively pursuing audiences outside of Asia as well, with a list of completed performances in Paris, Washington D. C., and New York.
CASTING
Our casting department fills roles for every genre imaginable, including anime, games, special events, streaming, and commercials. Finding individuals and turning them into effective teams demands both creativity and the ability to seek out and establish harmony among them. We aim to create works that entertain all five of the senses while carefully taking into consideration the wishes and desires of both the creator and the audience. People are emotionally moved and inspired by their interactions with others. Facilitating such interactions is how we contribute to the creation of works that will leave their mark in people’s hearts and minds.
